Absolut is to once again dress her iconic bottle in the pride flag, originally designed by San Francisco-based artist Gilbert Baker in 1977, just before Absolut Vodka was born. Absolut believe in the right to expression yourself in any way possible, which includes being able to love whomever you want to love. Creativity has always been at the core for Absolut, and diversity go hand in hand with that. A world where everybody is the same would not be any fun at all, but rather a quite boring place. That’s why Absolut is happy to have been celebrating a colorful world ever since 1979.

In 1977, artist Gilbert Baker manifested his message of solidarity, love and respect for diversity through the rainbow flag he designed. Ever since, this flag has not only been an important symbol of the LGBT movement, but also one that has represented colorful celebrations, massive parties and liberated minds, much like Absolut.  In 2008, the limited edition bottle collaboration between Absolut and Gilbert Baker first started. In 2015, we continue our friendship and show our true colors.

Absolut Colors contains the same Swedish vodka as a bottle of Absolut Vodka.

In 1980, Absolut was a pioneer among brands, by showing its support for the LGBT community. Since the first Absolut ads ran in magazines like The Advocate eand After Dark, events in LGBT bars, donations to HIV/AIDS charities and causes, outdoor advertising and sponsorships of LGBT TV channels have followed, and for over 35 years now, Absolut has been a vodka for the proud and colorful.
